DENMARK, Wis. – Stephen “Puck” “Beaver” Ruohonen, 57, Denmark, Wis, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at a local hospital unexpectedly. He was born March 11, 1955, to the late Paul and Helen (LeClaire) Ruohonen in Hancock.
Steve was a member of the Upper Peninsula Plumbers & Pipefitter Union. He enjoyed spending time on his boat and was an avid fisherman. He was an extreme fan of the Detroit Lions and Nascar racing. He was a semi-professional hockey player for the Peoria Blades. He was known as an excellent cook and enjoyed grilling. Steve was always the life of the party, a great dancer, very sociable and friendly with a contagious smile. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his daughter, Sara (Justin) Teague, Elizabeth, Ky.; sons, Thomas J. Coon, Green Bay, Wis., Ryan Ruohonen, Hernando, Fla., Charles (Rosalina) Ruohonen, Denmark, Wis., David (Shelly) McDermid, Green Bay; 14 grandchildren; brother, Mark (Michelle) Ruohonen, Marquette, Mich.; sister, Beth (Gene) Kahkonen, Marquette, Mich.; special friends Diana Rose Kopke and Kaye Ann Saunders and many other relatives and friends.
Friends and family may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., Green Bay, Wis.
