Nimrods defeat Bays

WATERSMEET – Dollar Bay couldn’t put a game together to beat Watersmeet on the road Tuesday, dropping a 65-37 decision to the Nimrods.

In the first half, a cold start put the Bays down 24-12 at the half.

“I thought we played strong defense in the first half, we just didn’t hit a shot,” DB coach Jesse Kentala said.

After the break, the Bays (0-6) upped their output with 25 points, but gave up nearly that many in the third quarter alone.

“Second half our defense broke down, we gave up too many lay-ups and too many transition shots,” Kentala said.

Israel Bolton led all scorers with 18 for the Nimrods, who won the JV game.

Carl Kangas led Dollar Bay with 14. Tom Dunstan pitched in 12. The Bays are at Hancock Thursday.
