Marion B. Rozman

CALUMET – Marion B. Rozman, 90, of Calumet and most recently of the Houghton County Medical Care Facility, passed away on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013. She passed away peacefully with the loving care of family, HCMCF staff and Aspirus Keweenaw Hospice.

She was born Sept. 22, 1922, in Lake Linden, a daughter of Edward and Theresa Leveque. She was a graduate of Lake Linden High School, Class of 1941 and moved to Milwaukee to work.

Marion married Ed Rozman in Milwaukee May 16, 1942. The couple moved to Chicago where she was employed with Wrigley’s and Sherwin Williams. She moved back to Lake Linden with her parents until Ed returned from WWII, then moved to Calumet in 1946.

In 1965, she took Nurse Aide training and started working at Calumet Public Hospital. She took over running Central Supply at the hospital in 1968 and was a loyal and dedicated employee until her retirement at age 71.

She crocheted many beautiful afghans, especially the ones made for great-grandchildren, enjoyed cooking and visiting with family, loved doing crossword puzzles, word search puzzles and talking about old times. She always had a smile on her face and made everyone feel welcome. She was a loving, caring wife, mom and grandmother who will be deeply missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Frances (Bud) and Robert Leveque; sister, Margaret MacDonald;

Marion is survived by her husband, Edward Rozman of Calumet; daughter, Kathleen (Fred) Sterk of Ishpeming; sons, Richard (Cheryl) Rozman of Gwinn and Michael Rozman of Calumet; grandchildren, Tammy Sanchez, Jill (Dale) Jarvi, Craig (Kimberly) Sterk, Jennifer (Jack) Maag and Laura Rozman.

Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Amanda Beckman, Matthew and Sean Sanchez, Bryce and Jhon Jarvi, Cameron, Macy and Carson Sterk, Lauren and Rachel Maag and Jayden White; step-grandchildren, Lisa (Jeff) Schuster, Linda Muljo, Scott (Stacey) Muljo, Darren (Carrie) Muljo, Kimberly (Jason) Yirsa; step-great-grandchildren, Savanna and Grant Schuster, Tyler, Jayda and Payton Muljo and Mallory and Jake Yirsa; sisters-in-law, Isabelle Leveque of Ill. and Dianna Leveque of Ontonagon; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26 in the Sacred Heart Church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fr. William Ssozi officiating. Friends may call in the church on Saturday morning from 9a.m. to 11a.m.

Pallbearers will be Craig Sterk, Dale Jarvi, Scott and Darren Muljo, Joseph Lanfranki and Joseph Lanfranki, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Sacred Heart Church and Aspirus Keweenaw Hospice.
