Bulldogs bite Bays boys

DOLLAR BAY – Hancock stifled Dollar Bay’s offense out of the gate and rolled to a 52-27 non-league victory Monday night.

The Bulldogs (9-7) held the Bays to just six points in the first half while scoring 27 of their own.

“They’re big. They zone up and get wide and Alex Almquist changes everything in the middle,” DB coach Jesse Kentala said. “If the outside shots aren’t falling, Alex takes away the inside, which makes things hard for us.”

Hancock got big nights offensively from Almquist (21 points) and senior guard Shane Raasio, who added 20 and made several strong moves off the dribble.

Dollar Bay (1-14) got six points from Cam Ringler and five from three others. The Bays are at Baraga tonight.

Hancock is in action Friday with a home game against Ontonagon.
