Keweenaw Bay rivalry a rout for L’Anse boys

L’ANSE – L’Anse posted its fewest points against of the season and routed its rival to boot in a 61-23 defeat of Baraga Thursday.

“We played very good halfcourt defense. Our help was good, we did a good job on the boards and we were able to run and get some easy baskets,” L’Anse coach Mike Ostermeyer said.

The win was the Purple Hornets’ fifth in their last six games.

The Hornets got a game-best 13 points from Keith Denomie. Daniel Perrow added 10.

Baraga falls to 2-14.
