HUBBELL – Cecelia Clouthier, 85, of Hubbell, met her Lord at home on Feb. 23, 2013.
She was born in Ironwood on Jan. 2, 1928, the daughter of Nick and Mary Radeka. Cecelia attended local schools, including the Sacred Heart School in Calumet.
She lived most of her life in the Hubbell area. On June 15, 1946, she married Louis “Buster” Clouthier.
Cecelia was a lifelong member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Hubbell, followed by St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden. Her strong faith was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; sons, Donald and Michael; special friend, Joe Medved.
Surviving are sons, Louis (Diana), Kenneth (Marie) and Kevin (Becki); daughter, Marian (Michael) DeCaesari; grandchildren, Andrea (Martin) Ferguson, April (John Macdonald) DeCaesari, Shannon (Bob) Matson, Lindsay Clouthier, Sarah Clouthier, Elizabeth Baumann and Andy (Shaneva) Clouthier; step-grandchildren, Claire and Will Davis and Brooke DuPont; great-grandchildren, Payne, Daisy, Mialy, Abby, Donovan, Gunner and Willow; sister, Bette (Lawrence) St. Peter; special friend, Bill Dahlin.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Cecelia was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking. She was known for her walnut and apple Povaticas, which she frequently made for charity fund raisers.
She also enjoyed daily worship, spending time with family, walks in her neighborhood, traveling both in and out of country, and, once a month, entertaining friends with tea and sweet treats.
Cecelia was a proud supporting member of the Red Hat Society and belonged to three local chapters: The Copper Belles, The Copper Island Divas and the Thimbleberry Tarts. She participated in and enjoyed all their activities including travels to Upper Peninsula and International conventions. With humor and enthusiasm, she set the standard for a true Red Hat Lady. She was loved and will be forever missed by her Red Hat sisters.
At Cecelia’s request, there will not be a public viewing.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 1, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden with Fr. Francis Dobrzenski to officiate.
