Mary A. Lombardi
SOUTH RANGE – Mary A. Lombardi, 87, of South Range, died Monday, Fev. 25, 2013, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock where she had been a patient for the past four months.
She was born in Trimountain on Aug. 6, 1925, a daughter of the late Vincent and Martha (Parenti) Lombardi and was a 1943 graduate of the Painesdale High School. In 1965, she moved from Trimountain to South Range where she resided with her sister, Margaret.
Mary was employed for 40 years as a secretary and receptionist at Copper Range Company from 1944 until her retirement in 1984.
Mary was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church in South Range.
She enjoyed skiing, ice skating and bowling in her youth. She also loved being outdoors walking, raking, going for car rides and chocolate milk. She was an avid 1960’s fan of the Green Bay Packers.
Surviving are two sisters, Margaret Lombardi and Elsie Iskra of South Range; one nephew, several nieces; great nieces and nephews; and a great-great-niece.
Besides her parents, Mary was also preceded in death by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Louis and Mae Lombardi and Fiore and Leah Lombardi; a brother-in-law, Martin “Teenie” Iskra.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Mar. 4 in Holy Family Parish in South Range, with Fr. John Martignon as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass on Monday in the church. Spring burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton.
Memorials in Mary’s name may be made to Holy Family Parish in South Range or to the charity of one’s choice.
