Thanks for help with skating fundraiser

To the editor:

The “Skating to Recovery” Fundraiser for Jennifer DePuydt-Saari was a huge success.

Thank you for the outpouring of generosity from friends, family, Barkell Elementary School (staff, parents and students), community members and local businesses. Jennifer will be going for radiation in the weeks to come; please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

There were many skaters on the ice. Thanks to Tony Peltier for getting the rink ready. It was very thoughtful of Amy Pierce, the winner of the 50/50 raffle, to donate her share back to Jennifer.

Thanks to everyone who donated food, pop and baked goods.

Big thanks to Jennifer’s daughter, Rachel, who received many donations through her Facebook page and for texting to her friends and family about the fundraiser.
