Henry “Bill” Dahlin
CALUMET – Henry “Bill” Dahlin, 86, a resident of Rockhouse Road in Calumet passed away at his home on Tuesday evening March 19, 2013.
He was born on Aug. 13, 1926, in Detroit a son of the late Karl and Vendela (Rydholm) Dahlin.
Bill graduated from Cass Tech High School in Detroit, later entering the U.S. Army and serving in Germany during WW II.
On July 10, 1946, he was married to the former Eva Pellikka and she preceded him in death on February 25, 1995.
Bill worked for General Motors, in the Warren Tech Center, as a wood pattern maker for 25 years retiring in 1986.
Bill and Eva enjoyed spending time each year at their cottage in Eagle River. For 47 years he never missed a trip and in 2007 at the age of 80 he moved from St. Clair Shores to Calumet to live.
He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Calumet.
Preceding him in death in Feb. was his special friend Cecelia Clouthier.
Surviving are: daughter Kathy (Paul) Malnar of Hudson, Mich.; sister, Lillian Tusa of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; brother-in-law Hank Pellikka, of Calumet.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday Mar. 23, 2013 in Faith Lutheran Church in Calumet with Rev. Peter Vorhes to officiate. Friends may call at the church from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
