About the Life Outreach Center
To the editor:
The Life Outreach Center, located in downtown Houghton, has been assisting women and families with crisis pregnancies for the last 32 years in Houghton County.
Operating on a budget consisting solely from donations, the center offers confidential services at no cost to those in need, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, age, or religious affiliation in a Christian context.
The center also offers pregnancy tests free of charge for clients in the area, and other educational support materials to help mothers and fathers adjust to a new addition in their lives.
The center cares about saving babies from abortion, and it also is a strong advocate for families and for protecting all life.
The Life Outreach Center is primarily operated with the help of volunteers from the community, under the direction of the Executive Director Kathy Strzyzkowski.
Volunteers can fit their volunteering around their personal schedules as the center has a variety of needs. The center is looking to add to its volunteer corps, and is encouraging veteran parents, also known as Grandparents, to offer their services to the center and possibly assist with mentoring beginning parents.
We would welcome those who would love to assist this very worth while organization, to bring their talents and help make a difference in someone’s life.
The center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and is located at 222 Shelden Ave. Suite Number 1. Our phone number is 482-8681. Our website can be viewed at houghtonpregnancy.org.
