Good man helped by friends

To the editor:

We would like to thank the wonderful response from the community at the Ron Kommes Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser at Houghton Elementary School April 13. We are pleased and overwhelmed by the generosity of our friends and neighbors.

Special thanks go out to Houghton Elementary School, especially to Shelby Turnquist for donating her time and talent and helping with decisions as we moved along, and Paul Schuster for his invaluable and patient assistance in the kitchen. Thank you to those who donated supplies: Finlandia University, Reinhart Food Service, Pat’s Foods and Festival Foods, McDonald’s, JC Penney Styling Salon, Gemignani’s Restaurant (thanks, Tony Gemignani for plowing in April) and Theresa Chobanian.

Thank you to everyone who brought in delicious baked goods for the bake sale. Thank you to the DECA group at MTU for their time. Thank you, Terry Patterson, for the impromptu bagpipe serenade. Thanks to everyone who sold tickets, put up posters, helped to set up, gave a little extra, came and ate the spaghetti, helped to clean up, etc. To everyone who participated in any way, we heartily thank you. A good man was helped.
