Frank H. Schutz, Sr.

PAINESDALE – Frank H. Schutz, Sr., 63, of Painesdale, died unexpectedly on Friday, April 26, 2013, at Marquette General Hospital.

He was born in Hancock, on Mar. 30, 1950, a son of the late George and Irene (Kaiponen) Schutz.

Frank attended the Houghton High School and had a passion for cars. He worked for Ed Manninen Used Auto Parts and Hocking Construction Company. Prior to retiring due to illness, he owned and operated Frank’s Repair.

Frank excelled at anything he put his mind to. His family was most important to him in life. He had a great personality and loved to smile and make people smile. He appreciated even the smallest things and would do anything to help anyone out. Frank will be greatly missed by his family and friends – never to be forgotten.

Frank was married to the former Pamela O’Connell.

Surviving are three sons, Frank Schutz, Jr. (Tera Dolan), Jesse Schutz and Eddie “Mo” Schutz all of Painesdale; brothers and sisters, Barbara Klemett of Painesdale, George “Red” (Janet) Schutz of Toivola, John “Ussie” (Helen) Schutz of Painesdale, Debra Beyers of Baltic, Mary Lou (Andrew) Oja of Franklin Twp., and Betty (Bob) Turuc of Liminga; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Christy (Ken) Lantto.

Besides his parents, Frank was also preceded in death by an uncle and aunt, George and Zelda Schutz; nephews, Michael Klemett and George Schutz IV; and his son, Cory Schutz; a niece, Sherry Klemett; and a brother-in-law, Karl “Gus” Beyers.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, in the Mountain View Mortuary in South Range, with Pastor Aaron Gehrke to officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the mortuary. Spring burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in South Range.
