Gail A. Ericksen
DELTA JUNCTION, Alaska – Gail A. (Aittama) Ericksen, 48, of Delta Junction, Alaska, and formerly of Lake Linden, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013, as the result of a motorcycle accident.
She was born in Laurium, on Jan. 9, 1965, a daughter to James and Christine (Kangas) Aittama and was a 1983 graduate of the Lake Linden High School.
Gail attended Eastern Michigan University and in 1986, moved to Alaska. She was employed as a management analyst for the Department of Defense at Fort Greely.
While living in Alaska, she met her partner, Scott Newman. Together they owned and operated Polaris Junction.
Surviving are her parents, James and Christine Aittama of Lake Linden; her partner, Scott Newman of Delta Junction, Alaska; a sister, Paula (Jeff) Brannick of Yorktown, Va.; two nephews, Kevin and Jason Brannick of Yorktown, Va.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gail was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Richard and Lillian Aittama; and her maternal grandparents, Sylvia and Tauno Kangas.
Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held in Alaska at a later date. The Jukuri-Antila Funeral Home of Hancock is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at antilafuneral.com.
