Norbert “Curly” Boyer
CALUMET – Norbert “Curly” Boyer, 87, a resident of Calumet, passed away at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility on Wednesday June 12, 2013.
He was born on March 17, 1926, in Pontiac, Michigan a son of the late Hercule and Anna (Poisson) Boyer. “Norb” grew up in Lake Linden.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WW II and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands as a cook.
In 1944, he was married to Helen Goodman and she preceded him in death in December 1995.
Norb was employed by the C & H Copper Mining Co. and later retired from Northern Hardwoods.
He was a devoted husband and father. As a family, they shared many wonderful memories of summers in Lac La Belle.
Surviving are: two daughters, Barbara Timonen of Phillipsville and Marcia Boyer of Frenchtown; one son, Robert (Vicki) Boyer of Calumet; grandchildren, Valerie (Travis) Snyder of Las Vegas, Melissa Boyer of Calumet, Allan Timonen of Phillipsville and Cherie (Chad) Radabaugh of Marquette; great grandchildren: Lauer, Dalton and Delaney; brother-in-law: Ralph Goodman.
At Norbert’s request private family services will be held. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet is assisting the family with arrangements.
