HUBBELL – Lorraine Hanner, 90, a longtime resident of Hubbell, passed away June 14, 2013, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock.
She was born December 6, 1922, a daughter of Peter and Mamie (Fretter) Forget. She graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School.
Lorraine worked at Lewis’s Grocery Store in Hubbell and, for 20 years, worked at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility.
She had been a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Hubbell and the Altar Society.
Lorraine was married to Adrian Hanner on June 29, 1940, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church and he passed away in 1996.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Margaret, Marcella and Mary Ellen; a brother, Raymond.
Surviving are four sons, Patrick (Carol) of Brighton, Mich., Paul (Judy) of Howell, Richard (Janet) of Weidman, Mich. and Bill (Dorothy) of Dodgeville; five grandchildren, Jim (Nina) Hanner pf Canton, Mich., Jon Hanner of Plymouth, Mich., Susan Hanner of Howell, Kevin Hanner of Flagstaff, Ariz. and Jeff (Heather) Hanner of Eleva, Wis.; eight great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Rylee, Carson, Paige, Brennan, Sydnee, Jack and Ella; two sisters, Beatrice Waarala of Westland, Mich. and Carol (Urban) Baril of Hubbell; numerous nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden with Fr. Martin Flynn to officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with a parish prayer service at 6:30. Burial will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden.
