Siddharth A. Thangaraj
HOUGHTON – Siddharth A. Thangaraj, a.k.a Sid, beloved son of Uma Thangaraj and Calvin King passed away unexpectedly on June 26, 2013.
Sid, 26 years of age, was born in Madras, India and came into the world with wide-eyed curiosity. He grew up to be a bright, passionate, perceptive and charismatic young man whose smile held the warmth of a thousand suns.
His first word as a baby was “No” – and rightfully so. He was a master debater and if he were not pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he would have made a great lawyer. Sid was known for his uncanny ability to explain things with such conviction that no one ever questioned the validity of his statements.
Sid fiercely and deeply loved his family and friends. He also loved science, literature, robotics, animals, high tech gadgetry, soccer, biking, mentoring kids, video games, his motorcycle and tinkering with his car.
He always led with his heart and had a special place in his cavernous heart for big and small cats and reptiles.
His premature departure has left a void that can never be filled.
He is survived by his parents; his little sister Samya; his maternal and paternal grandparents; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service was held at noon on Sunday, June 30 at Gee and Sorensen Funeral Home, 3180 30th Avenue N, St. Petersburg, Fla.
A separate memorial service will be held in Houghton, at a later date.
