Houghton police to host 5th annual Family Fun Day

HOUGHTON – The Houghton Police Department’s annual Family Fun Day has grown to the point where its old location can’t fit all the excitement.

The Family Fun Day will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Ray Kestner Waterfront Park.

Attractions include prizes, games, hot dogs and fingerprinting. With the move to the waterfront park, there will also be a bouncy house for children.

This is the first year at the waterfront park for Family Fun Day.

It was held at the City Center for its first four years. “It’s a larger area and we’re hoping to get more kids,” said organizer Lt. Nick Roberts.

“We just kind of grew out of the city center, and it gives us a lot more room and options. We’ve got Chutes and Ladders there at the beach, so we can bring in more stuff for kids to do.”
