F. Jeanne Seligmann
OHMAHA, Neb. – F. Jeanne Seligmann, 72, Omaha, Neb., formerly of Green Bay, Wis., died Sunday, August 25, 2013, in Omaha, Neb.
She was born June 25, 1941, in Hancock, the daughter of Francis and Doris (Lightfoot) Chamberlain.
Better known as Jeanne, she graduated from Houghton High School in 1959 and went on to St. Joseph School of Nursing in Hancock, graduating in 1962 with a RN degree.
While in high school, Jeanne was active in band, Forensics, gave piano lessons and received Houghton High School’s highest award at graduation, the Donald McDonald Award for Outstanding Student.
In 1964, she married Howard Seligmann. They spent most of their lives in Green Bay, Wis.
Jeanne retired from St. Vincent Hospital in 1997. They moved to Omaha, Neb., four years ago to watch their grandchildren grow up and play sports. Jeanne and Howard enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and abroad. They spent winters in their RV in southern Texas for 17 years.
Jeanne is survived by her husband of 49 years, Howard; two daughters, Joan Moser and Karen Carlson; three grandchildren, Kristen, Ty and Trent; three sisters, Mary, Margaret and Cathy; eight brothers, David, Charles, Gene, Richard, Robert, Tom, Michael and Dan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Hans and Erna Seligmann; two brothers-in-law; and a niece.
Friends may call at SS. Edward and Isidor Catholic Church, 3667 Flintville Rd., Flintville, WI, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church with Rev. David Hoffman officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton on Tuesday, September 3 at 10 a.m.
