Rockets blast off in Ewen
EWEN – Five first-half touchdown runs pushed Rapid River to a 44-12 Bridge Alliance victory at Ewen-Trout Creek Thursday night.
The Rockets opened the scoring with Jake Pearson TD runs from 15 and 60 yards on back-to-back drives midway through the first quarter. Luke Bero (1 and 4 yards) and Pat Pryal (5) got into the act later in the half as the Rockets took a 38-0 lead into halftime.
The Panthers stopped the bleeding in the third quarter, then got on the board on Kayne Williams’ TD run from 11 yards out with 9:16 to play and tacked on an additional score on a Landon Maki touchdown pass to Zach Leskela.
Williams ran for 95 yards on 11 carries to lead the Panthers (0-1), who host Engadine next week.
Pearson (84 yards) and Pryal (80) led Rapid.
