LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Belva Quello, 98, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Calumet, passed away on August 14, 2013.
Belva was born on February 12, 1915, in Texas.
In 1942, she moved to Washington D.C. where she worked for the War Department. While there, in 1943, she met and married Joseph Quello and subsequently moved to Calumet to raise their family. Later she moved to Las Vegas and for the past 25 years lived with her daughter, Janice Haupt.
Belva was a member of St. Mary’s Church and St. Paul the Apostle Church in Calumet where she was a member of the choir and served as organist for several years.
Belva was preceded in death by her husband and all 11 of her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her children, Robert Quello of Laughlin, Nev., John (Teresa) Quello of Milwaukee, Wis., Gerard (Cynthia) Quello of Hancock, Mich., Jodie (Russ) Feeley of Las Vegas, Nev., Janice (George) Haupt of Las Vegas, Nev. and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Calumet on September 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Father Abraham Mupparathara, presiding.
