Farm Block Festival a hit

The 6th annual Farm Block Festival took place at our farm on Aug. 9-11, 2013. The music festival is a fundraiser for the Dan Schmitt Gift of Music and Education Fund which provides low cost guitar lessons to children both here in the Keweenaw and in Kalamazoo.

We want to thank the following businesses for their continued support and generous contributions: Fitzgerald’s Restaurant, 41 Lumber, A-1 Toy-Lets, Ace Hardware, Louie’s Fresh Market, Pat’s IGA, Econo Foods, Walmart, Keweenaw Co-op, 5th & Elm Coffee Shop, Jon Simula Wood, Good Times Music, Old School Bakery, Toni’s Country Kitchen, Keweenaw Holistic Family Medicine, Bohemia Printing, Copper Island Printing, Clothing Matters – Grand Rapids, Eater’s Guild Farm – Bangor, Mich., Understory Farm – Bangor, Butternut Farm – Kalamazoo, and Hughes Design. A special thank-you to Ferrellgas for their generous and timely donation.

Finally, we’d like to thank everyone who attended this year’s fundraiser, along with the individuals who donated either financially or their time. Thank you all.
