United Way campaign is a great cause

The Copper Country United Way campaign is under way and once again it’s time to offer our thanks and appreciation for this valued local organization and all the services it helps to provide. The goal of this year’s campaign is $135,000. The beauty of the United Way campaign, of course, is that money raised here stays here.

It stays to help fund 14 partner agencies encompassing a variety of services. Both young and old benefit from the services provided by the partner agencies, whose scope touches nearly every facet of life in the Copper Country. The Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Salvation Army, the Barbara Kettle Gundlach Shelter Home, Keweenaw Family Resource Center, Phoenix House drug and alcohol treatment facility, 4-H, Western U.P. Healthcare Coalition, U.P. Emergency Medical Services, the Alzheimer’s Association and the American Red Cross all benefit from United Way Funding.

Once again the Daily Mining Gazette is proud to partner with the Copper Country United Way, not only by getting the word out, but by allowing our employees the convenience of making their donation through payroll deduction.

Whether through payroll, online or direct mail a donation to the Copper Country United Way is a gift that is returned over and over through good works and needed services. We support and applaud the United Way and urge all to do what you can to see this vital organization meet and exceed its campaign goal.
