Asst. Houghton hockey coach arrested on CSC charges

HOUGHTON – The assistant hockey coach at Houghton High School is facing criminal sexual conduct charges.

Brad Aldrich was arraigned on charges against a minor at the school in 97th District Court in Houghton Friday. He will appear for a preliminary hearing in two weeks.

Houghton-Portage Township Schools Superintendent Doreen Klingbeil said no action has been taken yet by the district.

“At this point, it’s still a matter being handled by the police,” she said. “Right now, there’s confidentiality issues, and we’ve got to wait until some things are settled.”
