Offering up sincere thanks

To the editor:

The Upper Peninsula chapter of the Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health would like to extend our gratitude to several local organizations. On Sept. 26, 2013, we sponsored a training in Houghton featuring Michael Trout, the director of the Infant-Parent Institute and an internationally recognized infant psychiatrist. We were able to have nearly 200 people participate in this amazing training opportunity for a very low cost due to the generous contributions and co-sponsorship of the following organizations: Copper Country Great Start Collaborative, Copper Country Intermediate School District’s Early On, U.P. Kids, BHK Child Development Board, Great Start to Quality Resource Center, Aspirus Keweenaw, National Association of Social Workers Michigan, Gogebic-Ontonagon Great Start Collaborative, and Superior Child Abuse Prevention Council. Thank you to the staff from Sheldon Grill and Magnuson Franklin Square Inn for you service and support. We would also like to extend a special thank you to REMC and Ted Belej for their support with the technology set-up. We would not have been able to provide this exceptional training in our local area without the support of the above named organizations. Thank you also to those who attended and work with young children.
