Help, donations made it happen

To the editor:

On Oct. 30, the Kermit’s Keweenaw Kids Youth Program held their Annual Halloween Party. The kids enjoyed pizza and hot dogs, as well as an assortment of treats. Music and karaoke was provided by Bill Brotherton. The party included a Haunted House, Karaoke, Zumba Fun with Sarah and Jess, games, a costume contest, candy scramble as well as a pumpkin/toy raffle. This event would not be possible without the assistance and donations from parents, community members, and local businesses.

A special thanks to Jon Grieger for the Haunted House, as well as Sarah Fraser and Jessica Cinelli for bringing the ZumbaFun to the kids. My sincere gratitude to the super heroes for their help in setting up and decorating the two nights prior to the party, working in the kitchen or haunted house during the party, and assisting with the clean up and tear-down afterward: Darlene Bjorn, Jon Grieger, Tom Harri, Robin, Caitlin and Dacee Ranta (and Caitlin’s friend Caitlin), The Tanskanen’s: Victor, Peggy, Marcus, Isaac, Jacob and Aiden,

A heartfelt thanks to those who helped out with chaperoning, bringing food, working the kitchen, judging costumes, games, haunted house, donating pumpkins, decorating or cleaning up and tearing down after the party: Betsy Arend, Bill and Ann Brotherton, Julie Carlson, Nick Carlson, Holly Cima, Steven Eckloff, Josh Eckloff, Debbie Harri, Kelly Harry, Stephanie Harry, Danise Jarvey, Sue Jarvi, Mark McEvers, JoAnn Meyers, Tom Novascone, Cindy Pellegrini, Ed Schneiderhan, Cathy Westcott, Tim and Wendy Wiinamaki, Jennifer Worm, Spencer and Shelby too, and Carol Yowell, as well as the many who brought goodies. The businesses that we would like to extend our thanks to are: Burger King, Hancock Bottling, Phoenix Store, ShopKo, Slim’s, Subway and WalMart.

A sincere thanks also to the Village of Ahmeek. My apologies to anyone whose name I may have mistakenly omitted. Again, this would not have been possible without the help of parents and volunteers. Thanks so much!
