Art Affair committee thanks all involved

To the Editor:

The Keweenaw Art Affair planning committee would like to thank all those involved who helped make our November 9th fine arts and craft sale such a wonderful success.

All the proceeds received in excess of expenses help support art in our local schools and in the community at large, and this year we were able to provide generous cash donations to the Hancock Elementary School Art Department, the Hancock High School Art Department, the Houghton Elementary School Art Department, the Houghton High School Art Department, the Copper Country Community Arts Center’s Summer Arts Camps, the Friends of the Porkies Artist-in-Residence Program, and Boy Scout Troup 208.

Special thanks go to Boy Scout Troup 208 for assisting our vendors on Friday and Saturday with both set-up and take-down of their displays, to Houghton High School for providing such a comfortable venue and much-appreciatedassistance with the event.

We wish to recognize the more than 50 artists who created such a fine array of arts and crafts and all the supporters of the arts who patronized those artists.

Affair Committee
