Drug bust in Laurium
LAURIUM – Troopers and detectives from the Michigan State Police Calumet post and members of the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team executed a search warrant Wednesday for illegal drug activity at a Laurium residence, according to a written statement from the MSP Calumet post.
As a result of an approximately two-week-long investigation involving the manufacture and sale of illegal and controlled substances, law enforcement personnel seized a substantial amount of heroin, methamphetamine, meth lab components, marijuana, prescription drugs, a loaded firearm and cash.
A 24-year-old male from Flint was arrested on other charges. The incident remains under investigation, and additional charges will be sought for occupants in the house.
Also assisting at the scene were officers from Laurium Village Police Department, Calumet Village Police Department, the MSP Meth Response Team, and Laurium Village Fire Department.
