AHMEEK – George Mrosz, 64, a resident of Ahmeek passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday morning, December 27, 2013.
He was born on January 3, 1949 in Calumet a son of Joseph and Anne (Kezele) Mrosz.
He graduated from Calumet High School with the class of 1967 and then attended Michigan Tech receiving his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 1971.
On September 16, 1978 he was married to the former, Susan King.
George worked for UPPCO for 35 years, working in Ishpeming and in Houghton.
He enjoyed playing horse shoes, playing the banjo, guitar and mandolin, cooking, grilling, four-wheeling, working in his shop, the hunting camp and spending time with his grandchildren.
His father, Joseph preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Sue; two daughters, Kathi (Bill) Toyra of Rock, Mich. and Nicole (Bruce) Mitchell of Copper City; five grandchildren, Jordan, Jeremy, Sierra, Cayman and Madison; his mother, Anne Mrosz; two sisters, Joanne Mrosz of Sheboygan, Wis. and Janice (John) Wiinamaki of Rosemount, Minn.; brother in law, Mike (Lynn) King of Gwinn; his dog and buddy, Hannabelle; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 5 p.m. in the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet with Deacon Art Stancher to officiate.
Visitation will be held on Monday in the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home from 3 to 5 p.m.
