CALUMET – Eleanore Klobuchar, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2014, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility.
Eleanore was born in Calumet on November 25, 1921, a daughter of Andrew and Emma Slusarszyk and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School.
She married Joseph Klobuchar, who preceded her in death in 1970. Eleanore was employed with the Obenhoff Dairy and later with UPPCO. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church, the Daughters of Isabella and the VFW Auxillary.
She is survived by a son, Joseph (Delores) of Birmingham, Ala., and a daughter, Mary Jo (John) Buckett of Marquette; her brother, Merlin (Alice) Slusarszyk of Dollar Bay; and sister-in-law, Shirley Slusarszyk of Laurium. Also surviving are grandchildren, Aimee (Joe) Goetter and Jill Buckett; step-grandchildren, Norman (Nicole) Saia Jr., Tanya (Chris) Ajlouny and Stephen (Brandy) Saia; great grandchildren, Gwendolyn, James, John, Leiah, Joshua and Jacob Goetter; and step great grandchildren, Jade and Amber Ajlouny and Norman (Rocco) Saia.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Slusarszyk; and sister, Dorothy Slusarszyk.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2014 in the St. Paul the Apostle Church.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., prior to Funeral Mass. Rev. Fr. Paul Manderfield will officiate.
