CALUMET – Ann Lasio, 99, passed away on January 9, 2014, at the Northridge Pines in Calumet where she had resided since 2007.
She was born July 25, 1914, in Greenland, Mich., the daughter of Anton and Mary (Bacher) Stimac. Ann attended Painesdale schools, graduating from Jeffers High School in 1932. In 1938, she married John Lasio.
Ann enjoyed being active in her community of Laurium/Calumet. She was a member of the Calumet Methodist Church and its women’s church circle. She was a past president of the Calumet Women’s Club, a Girl Scout leader, a volunteer at Coppertown Museum, and a member of the Lady Elks.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; her son, John; her sister, Mary (Shine); and her brother, Tony.
Family and friends will miss her sweet smile and kind and gentle ways.
She is survived by her daughter, Anne and Robert Brennan; nieces, Susan Desrochers and her sons, Matt (Laura) and Bill (Maddie) Manderfield, Lahti D. and her daughter, Wendy Lahti and Dianne Dost. Also surviving are her nephews, Bill (Kathy) Shine, Jim Shine and Daivd and Michael Lassio; close friends, Wendy and Jack Browning and Nancy McCabe; speical neighbors, Ann and Jerry Jackovac and Betty and John Muzzin.

Funeral Services will be held in the Calumet United Methodist Church on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Robert A. White to officiate.
Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m., until time of service.
