NEGAUNEE – Jeanne Knuuttila, 75, of 564 State Hwy., M-35, Negaunee, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at the Marquette General Hospital.
Jeanne was born February 5, 1938, in Escanaba to Uno and Ruth (Dalton) Norman.
She married Reynold C. Knuuttila on October 6, 1956. Jeanne worked at Beth’s Kake Kreation in Negaunee for many years.
Jeanne was a member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Ishpeming. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, craft shows, shopping and traveling. Jeanne was an excellent baker and known for her wonderful chocolate chip cookies.
Jeanne is survived by two children, Cheryl (Gary) Schafer of Crystal Lake, Ill. and Scott (Lisa) Knuuttila of Brandon, Wis.; two sisters, Jewel Shortridge of Milwaukee, Wis., and Roberta (Roger) Payne of Portland, Tenn.; a brother, Robert (Donna) Norman of Shakopee, Minn.; four grandchildren, Danielle, Derek, Megan and Tegan; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reynold in 2012; two sisters, Jeannette Stewart and Theresa Brady; and a brother, James Norman.
Jeanne’s family will greet relatives and friends from 4 until 7 p.m., on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, in the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home, and from 10 to 11 a.m., on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Ishpeming Township.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday in the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Ishpeming Township, with Frank Honkala to officiate.
Interment will take place in the spring in the Oskar Cemetery.
