HOUGHTON – Stanley Anderson, 74, of Houghton and formerly of Highway Location, passed away unexpectedly on January 19, 2014, at home.
He was born on March 11, 1939, in Highway Location, Franklin Township, to Raymond and Ellen Anderson.
He graduated from Hancock High School and served in the U.S. Army.
In 1997, he was married to Carolyn Weber.
Stanley worked as a delivery gas and oil truck driver until his retirement from U.P. Oil Company.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed his Rice Lake camp, gardening, snowmobiling and cross country skiing. He especially loved his pets.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Roger.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn, of Houghton; sisters, Shirley (Robert) Wetton, Laverne (Fred) Rauch, Pat (Jim) Weir and Carol Neher. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews; three step-children, Holly, Michael and Amy; and two grandchildren.
There will be no visitation or funeral services. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be sent to the Copper Country Humane Society in Stanley’s name.
