SOUTH RANGE – Lorraine Pellosmaa, 76, a resident of South Range, died on Saturday, January 26, 2014, at her home following a short illness.
She was born in Dodgeville, on April 26, 1937, a daughter of the late George and Esther (Kipina) Stalo, and was a 1954 graduate of the Houghton High School.
On December 30, 1967, she was married to Lawrence E. Pellosmaa in Baltic. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2010.
Lorraine worked with her parents at the Stalo Greenhouse located on the Superior Road. She also worked for several years at KMart in Houghton when it first opened, retiring from there.
Lorraine was a member of the South Range Apostolic Lutheran Church. She loved cats and was especially fond of her cat, Tiger. She enjoyed building puzzles and playing bingo.
Surviving are three daughters, Sharon (Ron) Jarvela of Toivola, Suzanne Pellosmaa and Elaine (Jim) Petrouske, both of Green Bay, Wis.; one son, Lawrence (Gabriela) Pellosmaa of Ponte Verda, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; an uncle, Ernie (Miriam) Kipina of Houghton; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014, in the South Range Apostolic Lutheran Church with Pastor Chuck Bylkas to officiate.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
Spring burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in South Range.
