KFRC offers sincere thanks

To the editor:

Keweenaw Family Resource Center staff and board would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped make our Ring in the New Year Sledding and Snow Shoe Event a success. We had a great turn out on January 11th for our third annual event. The weather cooperated and helped make this a wonderful opportunity to get outside and enjoy winter fun. Children and adults had an opportunity to try snow shoeing, sledding and participate in an outdoor scavenger hunt. We appreciated the use of the Nara Chalet for our story time and refreshment table as well as the surrounding trails complete with fresh snow! A hearty thanks for the delicious food donated by the Library Restaurant, 5th and Elm Coffee House, the Keweenaw Co-Op and Roy’s Pasties and Bakery. Special thanks to Becky Christianson for our story time. And last, but certainly not least, a big thank you to our sponsors: the Copper Country Great Start Collaborative, Aspirus Keweenaw, BHK Child Development Board, Portage Health, Gretchen’s House – Little Huskies Child Development Center, Psychology Associates, Tervo Agency, U.P. Engineers and Architects, Inc., MTU Kinesiology and Integrative Physiology, Thrivent Financial, UP and Running, Dollar Bay Linoleum and Tile Co., Superior Graphics, The City of Houghton, and Jim’s Foodmart. Hope to see you all next year with bells on.
