Leonard F. Gregoire

LAKE LINDEN -Leonard F. Gregoire, 78, of Maple Sugar Hill, Lake Linden, passed away at his home after a lengthy illness on February 3, 2014.

He was born on May 4, 1935, a son of Napoleon “Pete” and Florida “Fern” (Dessellier) Gregoire. He was a graduate of Lake Linden-Hubbell High School.

Leonard was self-employed as a logger. He was also known for his maple syrup business. He shared his maple syrup with many school children, groups, and friends. He will also be remembered for his “honor-system” Christmas tree sales. He enjoyed tinkering with all kinds of projects in his garage. He worked hard and found joy in keeping busy with his work.

He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden.

He was married to Marsha Strand on August 11, 1956. She passed away on October 4, 1975. Later, he was married to Mary Margaret Gervais and she passed away on November 27, 2003. Leonard was also preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lynette; and a brother, James.

He is survived by two daughters, Lynda Gregoire and Lisa (Arni) Ronis; two sons, John (Rene) Gervais and Joe Gervais; nine grandchildren, Ryan Gregoire, Angela Curto, Jeremy (Yidan) Monette, Kassy Kallio, Barry Koljonen, Brianna Gervais, Brett Gervais, Carly Ronis and Ally Ronis; seven great grandchildren, Caleb, Cole, Tyler, Xiaoya, Hayley, Abby and William; along with cousins and many friends.

The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2014 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden with Fr. Martin Flynn to officiate.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. on Thursday in the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with a Parish Prayer Service at 7:30.

Spring Burial will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden.
