Kenneth G. Laukka

MASS CITY, MICH. – Kenneth G. Laukka, 80, of Mass City, passed away on February 11, 2014, at his home.

He was born February 28, 1933, in Hancock, to Hilda (Tikkanen) and George Laukka.

He was married to Nancy (Kahkonen) on December 29, 1951. She preceded him in death along with in-laws, Bill and Twyla Kahkonen and Carole (Wes) Kahkonen.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, berry picking, feeding deer and chickadees.

He worked for various construction companies and belonged to the Michigan Laborer’s Union.

Survived by children, Pamela (Joe) Penegor, Joe (Deb) Laukka, Pat Liberto, Sandy (Matt) Roiger and Mike Laukka (Leanne Martinus); grandchildren, Lee (Alice) Penegor, Missy (Mark) Westie, Laurie Store, Casey (Heather) Laukka, Kristen (Nathan) Wilber, Donny (Michelle) Corey, Jesse Corey, Jenny (Paul) Jahnke, Scott Hoover, Jason Hoover; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Also survived by sister, Helen (Roy) Lindstrom; brother-in-law, Wesley Kahkonen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in the spring.
