Bays boys get beat by R-M

DOLLAR BAY – The game got away from Dollar Bay in the third quarter Thursday, as an 18-4 advantage in the frame helped Republic-Michigamme pull away for a 52-32 win.

“We fought hard and battled, but their shooters and penetrators wore us down,” DB coach Jesse Kentala said.

The Hawks, who got points from every player on their bench Thursday, led 22-13 at halftime.

Hunter Schulte’s 11 led R-M.

For Dollar Bay (1-17), Carl Kangas led all scorers with 16 points. The Bays play Ontonagon in a Class D district tournament first round game Monday night at Jeffers.
