CALUMET – Reggie Moore, 87, a resident of Calumet passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock.
He was born on October 19, 1926 in Kings’ Lynn, England.
He served in the British Navy in England.
Reggie worked as a carpenter in the building industry for Carter Builders in England for over 30 years. He retired in 1991, he was a hard worker and devoted employee who missed his job in his retirement years.
On October 30, 1982 he was married to Elizabeth Miettunen in England.
Reggie enjoyed performing in local operas, plays and singing in local choirs. He had an extensive stamp collection that lasted most of his life. He was an avid gardener and always stayed busy making wood and working around the house.
He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the church choir.
Surviving are his wife Betty; sons, Duncan (Jill) Moore of England and Lawrence (Jan) Moore of England; four grandchildren, Shane, Kimberley, Daniel and Victoria.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Faith Lutheran Church in Calumet with Pastor Peter Vorhes to officiate.
Friends may call at the Faith Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 10 to11 a.m.
The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet is assisting the family with the arrangements.
