Dona Marie Schneiderhan

CALUMET WATERWORKS – Dona Marie Schneiderhan, 70, a resident of Calumet Waterworks passed away on Monday evening, April 21, 2014 at the Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium.

She was born on September 9, 1943 in Calumet a daughter of the late Reuben and Impi (Binomaki) Hill. Dona graduated from Calumet High School with the Class of 1961.

On November 24, 1962 she was married to Bill Schneiderhan in Sacred Heart Church in Calumet.

Dona worked as a secretary for the radiologist Dr. Neil at Calumet Public Hospital and LeVeque Agency in Calumet for 30 years retiring in 2006.

Dona loved to garden, care for her flowers, decorate for all the holidays, work crossword puzzles, travel and go to the casino. She was a talented card maker and enjoyed the time making cards with her daughter-in-law, Lori. She was also very active in the community meal program held at the Sacred Heart Church. Her biggest enjoyment in life was her family and her grandchildren.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and a current member of the Calumet Township Board.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, David and Jack; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Glenn and Marie Kraft.

Surviving are her husband Bill; daughter, Tammy (Fred) Allen of Negaunee; sons, Mike (Lori) Schneiderhan of Hastings, Mich. and David (Rebecca) Schneiderhan of Negaunee; grandchildren, Holly, Nicholes (Rachel), Jorden, Jynessa (Anthony), Kortney, Barbara and Lynlee; great grandchildren, Jadon, Zane, Brody and Noah; brother, Paul Hill of Calumet; and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 6 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Church in Calumet with Fr. Abraham Mupparathara to officiate.

Friends may call at the Sacred Heart Church on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m.

Spring burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
