CCCAC says ‘thank you’

To the editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Daily Mining Gazette for so graciously running color photos of artwork by young people during the entire month of March. The color photos of amazing art by young artists had broad appeal. Even people without children in the exhibition told us they enjoyed seeing the artwork published in the paper.

The Copper Country Community Arts Center has participated in national Celebrate Youth Arts Month for the past 21 years. It’s a wonderful opportunity to honor the work of our public school Art Teachers and bask in the warmth of honest, joyful creativity. The extra publicity helped to bring many families in to see the exhibition which featured work by more than 200 children from 12 schools. I would also like to thank Dan Roblee for the excellent article he wrote about the Community Arts Center which was on the front page. This type of publicity for the Arts Center and for Arts Education truly goes a long way to help to foster an environment where the arts and people grow together!

With much gratitude,
