Lakes take two at home

LAKE LINDEN – Lake Linden-Hubbell had two wins by different processes Saturday in a softball doubleheader against Hancock at the Boneyard.

The Lakes had seven players with multiple hits in a 13-5 game one rout, but won the second game on a walk-off, 9-8.

In the opener, Taylor Shepeard went 4-for-5 with three RBI, including a home run to center field. Carli Ongie added three hits, while Sarah Audette, Jana Hendrickson (three RBIs), Erin Gast, Julia Hendrickson, Peyton Gast and Ciara Larson had two hits apiece.

Audette was the winning pitcher, allowing three earned runs on eight hits without a walk.

For the Bulldogs, Molly Berg had four hits and scored three times. Mackenzie Brunet and Mary Jarvis picked up a pair of hits.

In the second game, Audette led the Lakes with three hits and scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.

Kyleigh Audette and Peyton Gast picked up two hits each.

For Hancock, Brunet had a pair of singles and a triple. Carolyn Parker added two hits.

SOUTH RANGE – Calumet continued its high-scoring ways, ending both games after three innings.

In the opener, Calumet’s Emily Lahnala went 2-for-3 and scored three times.

In game two, McKenna Monticello, Megan Yeo and May Beiring all went 3-for-5.
