Slowpitch season begins

HANCOCK – Defending champions McGann’s/ Northern Auto opened their 2014 Copper Country men’s slowpitch season with a pair of wins on Opening Night Monday.

In the opener, they beat Erickson Crowley Peterson 21-14 before going on to a 19-3 win over North Pointe Trucking.

In game one, Dan Juopperi went 3-for-5 with a home run.

In the nightcap, Brian Juopperi went 4-for-4 and scored three times. Mark Koski was also 4-for-4 with a double and three runs scored.

Andy Bourdeau and Sean Conners had four hits apiece as Osmose defeated 906 Enterprises/ Pilgrim River Steakhouse 22-7.

Pat’s Foods/ ThermoAnalytics defeated Auto Value 20-14.

Jason Carne was 5-for-5 with a double in the win. Logan Rastello had a double and a triple in his four hits.
