Calumet softball rolls Jeffers

LAURIUM – Calumet continued rolling in Copper Country Conference softball play, dropping Jeffers 18-3 and 13-4 at the Gipp Recreation Complex.

Clara Loukus finished a homer short of the cycle in the opener, as Calumet salted it away early with eight first-inning runs.

May Beiring had four singles and two others had two hits in support of winning pitcher Morgan Peters.

In game two, Beiring had three more hits, Loukus had a single and a double, Megan Yeo a double and a triple and McKenna Monticello a grand slam.

Emily Erkkila was the winning pitcher.

Makenzie Anderson had a pair of singles for the Jets.
