Pat’s slowpitch pulls away

HOUGHTON – Pat’s Foods/ThermoAnalytics finished with a flourish Wednesday, scoring 18 times in the eighth inning of a 43-27 Copper Country men’s slowpitch league victory over Osmose.

Jason Carne homered twice in the win, while Logan Rastello had a five-hit game, scored six times and finished a single short of the cycle with three doubles, a triple and a homer.

Jim Larson and Christopher Fischer finished with four hits, Ben Steber, Carne, Austin Riipi and Ross DuMonthier three.

Erickson Crowley Peterson dropped Bucko’s/Labatt’s 29-12 behind a pair of Matt Turunen homers.

Pat Brunk, Alex Tarvainen, Alden Connor and Jeff Daegler all had four-hit games, while Turunen, Jason Van Straten, Buddy Londo and Josh Turunen had three.

For Bucko’s/Labatt’s, Joel Vertin’s 3-for-3 was the top offensive outing, though Jack Benson did homer.

Dan Eikenberry had hits in all four trips for Coca Cola/Miller’s Recreation, 20-3 victors over 906 Enterprises/Pilgrim River Steakhouse.

Sean Perron homered twice in a three-hit game, while Chad Monticello had a triple among his three hits.

McGann’s/Northern Auto rolled past The Goal Post 32-12. Aaron Cosellian, Brian Juopperi and Kip McIntyre went 5-for-6. Steve Aho, Josh Frantti and Jarod Johnson had four hits, while Gus Heinonen and David Wesa had three. Frantti and Juopperi homered.

North Pointe Trucking defeated The Goal Post 29-13. Jeff Aho was perfect in six at-bats with five singles and a triple. Darren Kinnunen added four singles and a triple in the win, while Brent Jurmu had three singles, a double and a triple and Craig Kilpela and Kurt Aho pitched in four hits apiece.
