Dorothy I. Hannula

CALUMET – Dorothy I. Hannula, 86, a resident of Calumet, passed away on May 28, 2014, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock.

She was born on January 28, 1928, in Calumet a daughter of the late Salem and Helmi (Pelto) Ekola.

Dorothy graduated from Calumet High School with the class of 1946.

On May 14, 1955, she was united in marriage to Paul Hannula and he preceded her in death on September 16, 2008.

Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, going to the casino, baking and in her younger years swimming and platform diving.

Surviving are five children, Susan (Hannula) Spaulding of Kelowna, B.C., Sandra (Ray) Leys of Kentwood, Michigan, David (Tammy) Hannula of Calumet, Paul (Tina) Hannula Jr. of Calumet and Patricia (Gail) Mullreed of Ann Arbor, Michigan; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet with Pastor Ken Toth to officiate.

Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.

Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet.
