WUPHD looking to fill position
HOUGHTON?- Western U.P. Health Department has begun a search for candidates to fill the position of Health Officer and Executive Officer for the five-county health department. The current health officer, Guy St. Germain, announced his plans to retire from the role by October, said Scott Ala, Chair of Western U.P. Board of Health.
Ala said that the board’s search committee has been working with St. Germain to outline the search process, which will take place over the next few months. Information about the position is available at the health department’s website.
St. Germain has been with the health department for 24 years, the last ten as its Health Officer and Executive Officer.
Western U.P. Health Department provides public health services to residents in Houghton, Keweenaw, Baraga, Ontonagon and Gogebic counties from its offices in Hancock, L’Anse, Ontonagon and Bessemer.
