Bucko’s/Labatt’s keeps slowpitch basepaths busy

HOUGHTON – Keeping the scorebook for Bucko’s/Labatt’s during Wednesday’s Copper Country men’s slowpitch doubleheader must have required two or three pens.

Bucko’s/Labatt’s scored 56 runs and allowed 59 in one night, splitting its two games: A 37-17 win over North Pointe Trucking and a 42-19 loss to Nutini’s.

In the win, Brad Anderson was 6-for-7 and finished a double short of the cycle. Kevin Tormala, Aron Butkovich and Jordan Johnson finished with five hits, Jack Benson, Steve Dunstan and Charlie Kemppainen with three.

No stats were available for Nutini’s, which combined for 46 hits.

Bucko’s/Labatt’s got three hits apiece from six players: Dunstan, Kemppainen, Anderson, Benson, Johnson and Tormala, with Benson and Johnson homering. Matt Hampton and Butkovich had triples.

Post 90/Lakes Lounge routed 906 Enterprises/Pilgrim River Steakhouse 31-5.

Bobby LaRoux and Jason Wilks had five-hit games for the winners.

Joel Michaelson had three extra-base hits in his four-hit night. Bill Bastion had a double and a triple in his four hits and both Jason Sedar and Dean Scherbring logged four hits as well.

Erickson Crowley Peterson defeated The Goal Post 26-11 with help from four hits by Buddy Londo, Erik Nettell, Alex Tarvainen and Josh Turunen. Londo had a double and a triple, Nettell a double and a homer.
