Art & Music fest says thanks

To the editor:

The Copper Country Community Arts Center (CCCAC) would like to thank the following people, organizations and businesses that helped to make the 12th Houghton Art & Music Festival a success: our generous event sponsors, Keweenaw Brewing Company, 5th & Elm Coffeehouse, and brockit inc.; our programming partner, Minnesota Public Radio; Frog Hop supporters, Surplus Outlet, Downwind Sports, Blue Iris, Swift’s True Value, 5th & Elm Coffeehouse, Pizza Works, Bliss Spa, Lunch Bag, Rhythm Bike Shop, Good Times Music, Chickadees, Your Crazy Place, and Yummy Bar; Kenny Stahl, Paul Bristol and MTU SLS for providing sound and stage management for the music; BIKE! provided bike decorating and led the bike parade; CCCAC Art Activities tent, Melissa Hronkin with Emma Mackey and Hailey Macias; CCCAC members who baked for the Extreme Bake Sale; volunteers who worked at the information tent and who helped with set up and tear down, Harriet King, Sue Ellen Kingsley, Phyllis Fredendall, Jane and Tom Hiltunen, Sharon Emley, Susan Hooker, Susie Kilpela, Tammy Gajewski, Dan Schneider, John Arnold, Ken and Noah Kozminski, Ray Krumm, and Eero Watia. We would also like to thank the artists who participated and demonstrated their craft to provide an educational experience. We are grateful for support from the city of Houghton’s Public Works and Houghton City Police and our committee: Eric Waara, Ann Volrath, Adam Johnson, Meghan Fiala, and Margi Boissevain. We couldn’t have put on the Festival without all the fabulous help we received.
