Pat’s wins a close one
HOUGHTON – On a night with a lot of lopsided games, Pat’s Foods/ThermoAnalytics won by just one run, scoring 11 times in the ninth to beat Osmose 32-31 in Copper Country men’s slowpitch play Wednesday.
Ben Steber was 5-for-6 with three home runs and Logan Rastello was 5-for-6 with two home runs for the winners, while Henry Baron and Charles Fraser also had five hits. Fraser finished a double short of the cycle.
Jon Hendricks had four hits and Jake Hebert three.
Nutini’s topped Post 90/Lakes Lounge 20-15. No stats were posted for the winners, but Joe Rivest contributed four hits and a pair of doubles in defeat. Dean Scherbring, Bill Bastion, Dennis Dobes and Jason Sedar finished with three.
Erickson Crowley Peterson dropped 906 Enterprises/Pilgrim River Steakhouse 31-3. Buddy Londo and Erik Nettell both homered twice. Matt Turunen had a round-tripper in his team-leading five hits. Londo, Drake Sullivan, Josh Turunen and Jason Van Straten had four-hit games. Nettell finished with three.
Bucko’s/Labatt’s defeated Auto Value 17-2 with help from three hits apiece by Kevin Tormala, Jordan Johnson and Charlie Kemppainen.
They doubled their fun Wednesday by dumping The Marley Bar 36-3.
Tormala and Kemppainen had five hits in that one. Dave Frantti and Steve Dunstan finished with four. Aron Butkovich, Joel Vertin, George VanDenburg and Johnson racked up three hits apiece.
