Many helped CPL book sale

To the Editor:

We Friends of the Calumet Public Library held our annual book sale on June 29 and it was extremely successful. Many individuals and businesses helped greatly. We heartily thank:

Dan Riutta Contracting, who donated two months of book storage space.

Designotype Printing, who provided many fine boxes. Also Pat’s IGA in Calumet let us have all the additional boxes we needed.

The River Valley Bank in Calumet publicized our sale on their marquee, and so did the AmericInn in Calumet.

That helped a lot and we appreciate it.

The CLK Schools allowed us to use the multipurpose room that Friday and Saturday. Mike Hale and the custodians moved those big heavy tables into and later back out of the room.

They greatly helped with clean-up after the sale. And Patty Hale in the library helped unstintingly in the whole effort. Thank you, CLK.

We thank the donors of all the quality books, we thank the Library Friends who put in 262 volunteer hours toward this sale, and we thank the hundreds of good folks who came to our sale and bought so many items that we set a new record for this fundraising event.

And this year we thank our member and very good Friend Mary who offered a space in her own garage where we could bring the unsold items!

More than 95% of our funds go directly to purchase things for the library which are not covered by the regular library budget.

Respectfully,

Phyllis Ramos,

president
